Believe – Speak

Why does it take some of us longer than others to understand that our children are transient “gifts” who are given to us to love and let go? (Psalm 127:3)

Some of us want to parent forever – but that is not what God wants – we have to learn to train, trust and let go. (Proverbs 22:6)

What a blessing to be able to live to see your children grow into a person who is beyond yourself; an individual who develops beyond what you added/subtracted to them/from them. The blessed wonder of watching as they discover for themselves who they are.

We all must learn to rejoice in the knowledge that somehow, someway God transforms the fragmented emotional shards we planted in their minds to reflect the Light of Christ.

We will find peace in understanding that as we release our adult “gifts” back into the Father’s Heavenly Hands, that He has promised to lead them. (Psalm 16:11)

We are comforted in knowing that we were NEVER fully responsible for unwrapping our “gift” to reveal their treasure inside; we were simply tasked with holding and loving them until it was time to deliver them fully back into the hands of the Potter. (Jeremiah 17:10)

May we all cherish our parenting moments without fear or guilt as we take comfort in the knowledge that in the end it is the Potter Who will shape and hold them forever. (Jeremiah 18:4)

CHILDREN – A “GIFT”. (Psalm 127:3 – 5)
